Got a question?Come tiptoe through the tulips with P&O Ferries this spring on a visit to Holland’s renowned Keukenhof gardens, where the best bulb growers in the world vie with each other to showcase their skills.
It’s serious stuff: around seven million bulbs are planted on the 80-acre Keukenhof site at Lisse, near Amsterdam, creating a floral extravaganza acclaimed as the greatest flower show on earth.
There are around 1,000 different tulip varieties alone, plus daffodils, bluebells, narcissi, crocuses, hyacinths, lilies, amaryllis and chrysanthemums, to mention just a few.
This year the gardens open between 23 March and 18 May and P&O Ferries has two-night mini cruises via its Hull – Rotterdam service from £88 per person, based on two people sharing a cabin. Coach transfers between Rotterdam and Keukenhof, as well as entry fees, are included.
