Got a question?P&O Ferries will support the search for the nation’s best young chef with a £5,000 sponsorship deal.
The cash will support the National Junior Chef 2011 competition run by Thanet College and judged by celebrity chef Gary Rhodes. Youngsters between 11 and 16 years of age will compete in a series of cook-offs for a place in the final on 13 May 2011.
It is the eighth year that P&O Ferries has sponsored the competition and the winner will be invited to cook for one of the company’s Captains. Andy Mortimer, Head of Operations On Board Services at P&O Ferries, said: “Our sponsorship of the National Junior Chef competition gives us an opportunity to highlight our industry as an alternative career route for young chefs. It also cements our close links with Thanet College, which provides training for many of our on board services team.”
