Brussels will be hosting a Christmas toy party with a twist this festive period. The annual event will forget modern technology such as the PlayStation or the iPod and will instead introduce children to the secrets behind old-fashioned toys that have enjoyed long-term success in the toy world.Held at the Centre Communautaire de Joli-Bois (CCJB) at weekends in December, tickets will cost €5 (£3.48) per person and are free for children under the age of ten, reports events service whatsonwhen.
Parents may be able to join their children in experiencing a range of toys from different eras, such as classic train sets, remote control cars, tin soldiers and yo-yos. Plenty of hands-on activity is reportedly available to keep families on short break in Belgium busy over the festive period.
Toy-lovers could be interested to learn that the 28-year-old venue has hosted 24-hour Scalextric events, while creative workshops, a communal library, two nurseries and a 164-seat theatre also exist at the venue.
