The Hague - Discover the Royal city by the sea

Museums
The Hague is known as the City of Peace and Justice as it houses The Peace Palace ‘Vredespaleis’, the seat of International law. Other symbols of Peace and Justice include the annual ‘Movies that Matter’ International film and debate festival (22-28 March 2012), and the ‘Humanity House’; a museum giving a story behind conflicts.
There are many other eye-catching museums and exhibitions such as The Hague Sculpture, with its life sized Chinese statues exhibition (6 June-September 2011), The Golden Age collection at the Maruitshuis or the impressive Mondrian and De Stijl exhibition which will be part of the Gemeentemuseum’s permanent collection as of September 2011.

Royal The Hague
The Hague is the home of Queen Beatrix and the city where the Dutch government has its seat. A few of the Royal palaces in The Hague are still in use today. These include the Noordeinde palace, and the Huis ten Bosch palace. The Lange Voorhout palace is now the Escher museum.

Festivals and Events
Throughout the month of June The Hague is hosting parties & festivals as part of the fifth edition of The Hague Festivals. This period offers cultural, musical and entertainment events.
