P&O Ferries sail from Cairnryan port, which is located in southwest Scotland, on Loch Ryan's northern edge.

Cairnryan port is easily accessible by road, rail and bus. When planning your trip, please remember that the check-in closes 30 mins before departure for vehicles, and 45 mins for foot passengers.  We recommend you check-in at least 1hr before the scheduled departure time.

By car:
The port of Cairnryan is 5 miles north of Stranraer on the A77.
From the North follow the A77 south from Glasgow/Ayr.
From the South follow the M6/A74 to Carlisle then the A75 via Dumfries towards Stranraer. 2 miles south of Stranraer turn right onto the A751/A77.  There is limited free of charge car parking at the port.  Click here to view a map of directions.     

By coach
There are frequent connections to Ayr, Dumfries, Stranraer, Carlisle, Preston and Birmingham.

By rail
The nearest railway station to Cairnryan ferry port is Stranraer Railway Station, which is around 4 miles away from the port.
