passport application changes

The passport application system is changing to prevent fraudulent passport applications

The identity and passport service (IPS) is introducing significant changes to the passport application process for first-time adult passport customers. Those adult customers (16 and over) applying for a passport for the first time must attend an interview with IPS in person to confirm their identity, this also applies to those customers whose names were included on a parent's passport.    

When booking your crossing please bear in mind that those first-time adult customers should allow 6 weeks from the date of application to obtain their passport and due to this new application process a Fast Track service is no longer available for first-time customers.
